Catherine
Kelly
Catherine is a member of the Brigidine Secondary
School Council. Her focus
on this Council is to support Religious Education Co-ordinators
and Religious Education Staff in Brigidine Secondary Schools.
She is also a member of three Stewardship Councils and chairs
two Committees of those councils.
Throughout her life, Catherine has been involved
in education at primary, secondary and tertiary levels. She is a trained primary and secondary teacher and apart from having
worked as a full-time teacher, has been a principal of three secondary
schools, worked as a curriculum consultant across Brigidine schools
as well as with the Catholic Education Office, lectured in Religious
Education at Christ campus and is currently an associate lecturer
(part-time) in Religious Education at YTU.
She has a particular interest in religious education in multi-faith
settings.
Social Justice Issues are a major interest
in Catherine's life. At present she is involved in several Brigidine
groups whose focus is educating for justice and she convenes the
committee which overseas the shool-based Justice and Democracy Forums.
