Procedures for selection of Stewardship Council Members

Process of selection of Stewardship Council Members

The current Stewardship Council carries out the process of nominating replacement members to the Brigidine Sponsorship Group who appoints those people they choose taking into account nominations. Councils will set up a nominating committee to prepare a list of potential members.

Selection of Members for the Stewardship Council

In the selection of members it is recommended that:

  • Consideration be given to past parents and past students
  • There be no more than 2 parents of present students
  • People from the wider community who have something to offer to the school be considered
  • Staff members are ineligible for Council membership.
  • Number of Members and length of term of office on the Stewardship Council
  • The number on the Stewardship Council, needs to be big enough to carry out their responsibility and small enough to have everyone involved; it is suggested the Brigidine Council begins with 9 members. The term of office will be 3 years and a third of the members will retire each year.
