1) All Brigidine schools and structures exist as an expression
of the work of the Congregation of the Sisters of St. Brigid, Victorian
Province (the Brigidines).
2) The Brigidine Provincial Leader and Provincial Council, (as
Brigidine Association), retain ownership of all property, are responsible
for debts and retain the right to sell real estate.
3) The Brigidine Sponsorship Group works with the Provincial Council
and act as Trustees for the schools. The Group appoints the Principals
of the schools, ratifies the membership of the Stewardship Councils and
is generally responsible for the direction of the schools.
4) Principals exercise leadership and responsibility in the management
of the schools, and are members of the Brigidine Secondary Schools' Council,
along with the Sponsorship Group.
5) The Brigidine Secondary Schools' Council, (BSSC) which includes
3 full-time members, is responsible for areas such as the professional
development of senior schools personnel, long-term advice and planning
regarding the needs and the development of policies congruent with the
Brigidine ethos and core values. The BSSC works with the Sponsorship Group
to determine future directions.
6) The Stewardship Councils are responsible for the support of
the Principal, encouraging the maintenance and development of the Brigidine
ethos at local level; the approval of local policies and budget; strategic
planning at local level; and supporting school improvement.
7) The following schools are sponsored by the Brigidine Congregation
(Victorian Province) and constitute the Brigidne network of schools:
