About the Overview Diagram

1) All Brigidine schools and structures exist as an expression of the work of the Congregation of the Sisters of St. Brigid, Victorian Province (the Brigidines).

2) The Brigidine Provincial Leader and Provincial Council, (as Brigidine Association), retain ownership of all property, are responsible for debts and retain the right to sell real estate.

3) The Brigidine Sponsorship Group works with the Provincial Council and act as Trustees for the schools. The Group appoints the Principals of the schools, ratifies the membership of the Stewardship Councils and is generally responsible for the direction of the schools.

4) Principals exercise leadership and responsibility in the management of the schools, and are members of the Brigidine Secondary Schools' Council, along with the Sponsorship Group.

5) The Brigidine Secondary Schools' Council, (BSSC) which includes 3 full-time members, is responsible for areas such as the professional development of senior schools personnel, long-term advice and planning regarding the needs and the development of policies congruent with the Brigidine ethos and core values. The BSSC works with the Sponsorship Group to determine future directions.

6) The Stewardship Councils are responsible for the support of the Principal, encouraging the maintenance and development of the Brigidine ethos at local level; the approval of local policies and budget; strategic planning at local level; and supporting school improvement.
