Local Action For Justice

The Sisters are involved in justice issues in their own local areas to a greater or lesser degree, working with Pakeha, Maori and Pacific Island groups.

They support those who are concerned about the human rights of the marginalized in society. They constantly draw attention to causes and ethical issues facing older people and others, whose dignity and worth are sometimes ignored. The means of support provided by the Sisters can be financial, but it mostly comes either through prayer, personal contact, email, correspondence or attending meetings.

A small group of Sisters are members of Amnesty International. They constantly remind Heads of State around the world, about matters concerning the plight of political prisoners and prisoners of conscience.
