Works

From simple beginnings in education the Brigidine Sisters are engaged in an ever-widening circle of works which address the needs of the times. Foundational to this is the commitment to the transforming mission of Jesus wherein we are co-workers in promoting values, attitudes and conditions which contribute to the building of a more just society.

Pastoral Ministries

Individual sisters engage in a variety of other pastoral ministries. Some are developing learning programs and advocacy networks for people with disabilities; others work in Ryder Cheshire Homes, offering support to people living away from their home environment; others support single mothers or newly arrived migrant families. One sister has been instrumental in having a Hospice Centre built to assist the community in improving the care of the dying and their families; another is a funeral minister. In their retirement years many sisters continue their pastoral activities by visiting and assisting with voluntary programs in the community.
